Are you planning on getting an epidural or go natural?

Question

I have had 5 kids all natural, but always wondered what it was like to get an epidural. How does it feel to get an epidural; before, during, and after birth.

I had an epidural when I was induced . Wasn't painful going in, I was relaxed until it was time to push . I still felt my legs and pushed my baby in 3 pushes. Got up to pee 30 minutes later after delivery. All went well.

I got an Epidural but I had to push for 4 hours so half way threw they turned it off so I could feel everything and push harder (he was face up and I have a narrow pelvis)..... honestly to me it didn't feel much different but their goal wasn't to make me pain free just help ease it a bit so I could do what my body needed it to do.

I rather go natural so I can be up and moving sooner and go home sooner but if I end up needing it I'm not against it. I'm very scared of needing an epidural or csection 😬

I was induced with my first two children, Gabriel who was over 41 weeks and Devlyn who was just over 39 weeks. I was terrified of the epidural for my first but ended up getting one as the pitocin caused such strong contractions I couldn't bear the pain (also low tolerance to pain). With my last (my daughter Sage) I woke up in bed with my son who had wet the bed and unknowingly had broken my water. That was at 2:30am. I slept on and off until 4:30 when I realized that my water had indeed broke (I wet through a heavy overnight pad). I woke up my ex (he had broken it off months prior to her birth) and let him know what was happening. We decided to wait as the contractions were not painful like my previous ones and ended up getting to the hospital at 7:45am and without any type of pain relief had her at 8:20am. 
Seriously though each experience is different and thusly an epidural is something each woman must make a choice with on her own.

My friends daughter in law was going all natral and she did it foe 32hrs before the dr told her the baby was under to much stress and she got it and had him 3hrs later. The same thing happened with the 2nd and buy the 3rd she just got it done right away

I'm afraid to get one! My friend sister in law had a bad reaction went into a coma and woke up in a veggie stait she was still in there but couldn't communicate or survive without machine so after a while her husband polder the plug! After she told me that I am definitely not wanting to get it done at all! I know it is realy realy rare but it is still realy scary

I had an epidural with my first, I had been induced at 39 weeks with pitocin and once I hit level 15 I started to have anxiety attacks from the more frequent and strong contractions, once I received my epidural I progressed faster and things went extremely smooth. I will not be induced this time around so I would really like to try and go natural but if I end up getting the epidural I won't be upset. the epidural made me go completely numb from my tummy down to my toes and honestly it wasn't weird or anything. One thing I did need though was the peanut ball which I recommend to any woman in labor it helped me progress so fast!

Oh man I loved that epidural. I passed out right after they gave it to me and got some much needed rest.

I'm all for an epidural! However my last two deliveries my epidural didn't work properly, first delivery I could feel every contraction but couldn't feel her coming out. Second delivery my front contractions went away but had major back contractions and felt every inch of her come out! So in a way I still had a partial natural labor. The epidural only helped a little. 😩
