My child's father was not involved at all during my pregnancy, I wanted to make things work and he claimed he did as well. I didn't even see him a whole month before giving birth and keep mind we live 10 minutes away from each other. I gave my son my last name, and I simply told his father to me last name is earned not given. He got very upset but he still has not yet provided anything for our child I do everything on my own and I like it that way to be honest. Do you think I'm wrong for giving our son my last name?

I'm a firm believer that a child should have heir father's last name IF he is actively involved. In this case, I don't think you're wrong at all. Don't beat yourself up about it.

If anything happens and we break up, my son will have my last name. But since your baby's son isn't involved he should definitely have your last name!! You did the right thing.
