A few of my friends have brought to my attention that they are scheduling their babies birthday per recommendation of their doctor. Sometimes as early as 37 weeks because "That's full term". Saying, "you'll be so uncomfortable that we can just schedule to induce you"

This got me thinking. Are doctors scheduling to induce for the mother's convenience or their own? There's no doubt that scheduling a delivery would be more convenient than being on call. Are some doctors looking out more for their own best interest before trying to let nature take its course or do you think this is just business savvy and better for everyone being as the mother also has a set schedule with (hopefully) no surprises?
