heart rate theories?

Question

I had an ultra sound at 9 weeks 5 days, and the baby was measuring that same size. The heartbeat was 188. I've heard girls have higher heart rates, however so do Down syndrome babies? Does anyone have further knowledge?

Edit: thank you for your responses! I really appreciate each one. Helps me to chill out and just wait til my blood panorama to find out if it's a girl/boy &/or chromosomal abnormalities.

Mines heart rate  was always on high end but it's a healthy boy!

I personally don't think they are accurate at all. My ultrasound tech said she was going to wait a few minutes to measure my babies heart rate during my ultrasound because baby had just moved a round a whole lot and the heartbeat would be higher because of it. So I'm sure a lot of times the heart rate is effected by small stuff like that and so it's really hard to take stock in it when trying to guess gender. That's just my opinion though ☺

That's just an old wives tale. There is no scientific evidence showing girls having higher heart rates than boys. My son's heart rate was always high 160's in utero.

All babies heart beat are going to be fast when they are that small . I have heard the theory of a fast heart beat means a girl but I would wait until you are further along to test that theory . For the Down syndrome one , I haven't heard

My daughter was 178 and my son was in the 160's. This pregnancy was 182 and just find out it's a boy 💙
