should i call...?

If after you finish an online application amd they say "we will contact you if you have an interview" is it okay to call? Because people always tell me to call afterwards but a lot of them say that they will make contact if they want me.

As a HR Manager - I would say do not call. If there has been a specific message confirming that someone will be in contact if you secure an interview then that will happen. Otherwise it means you're unsuccessful. I personally waste a lot of time responding to emails / phone calls with candidates after they've been specifically told that they would only receive contact if we wanted them to progress to the next stage. It's infuriating.

Going somewhere in person is a lot more effective than calling. Mangers like to put faces with names when they hire and if you make an effort to go up there, they are more likely to hire you over other candidates
