How long will you be formula feeding or breast feeding?

Just wondering how long babies are breast fed or formula fed

You can go as long as you want for breastfeeding. Formula feeding; I believe is until they turn one and then they get whole milk. I'm currently breastfeeding my two month old and I would like to make it up to a year.

I will start solids as soon as I'm allowed to, and wean her off as the doctor advises! I am seriously looking forward to lessening the expenses of formula...it's so expensive!

My goal is to breastfeed for 6 months but I'm going to try for a year. It isn't that hard like everyone make it seem and I have to see how my supply will be once I return to work..

I'm exclusively pumping, my goal is to continue until 4 months and then slowly decrease my number of pumps a day to 4, (I pump 7 or 8 times a day now). And see what happens then.

I'd like to try to breastfeed until my little one is one and getting most of his nutrition from proper food.  The recommendation for formula here is until one as well, then you can switch to full fat cow's milk.

I breastfed my older 3 kids till the were a year (and a bit past that). With my daughter now I'm pumping and doing formula. I'll pump as long as I can, and do formula till she's a year.

Formula and breast milk are the main part of their diets till a year. Solids are just additional nutrients, they don't replace milk/formula.

Breastfeeding and formula feeding exclusively is fine until 4-6 months. After that, you need to supplement either with solid food as neither offers enough nutrition once a baby is that age. Your ped will be the best person to ask about specifics.
