wondering what is the point??

Question

I have PCOS and husband has borderline motility problems ( at first they said it was normal... now they are like well it's normal, but borderline being low). We've done multiple clomid cycles which resulted in thin lining and a huge cyst. Currently I'm in a tww from letrozole 5mg where my eggs never got big enough for them to have me trigger - but I did ovulate per the progesterone test. I love my RE, and yesterday she told me that we have a 1-3% chance each cycle doing timed intercourse, so she advised upping the med dosage and doing IUI next time around will give us 5-8% chance. She said we should give another 3 cycles a try before going to IVF. IVF is a huge deal, I'm not taking it lightly - but it makes me feel like what is the point of these cycles if we have such low chances?! Everyone keeps telling me oh maybe you're pregnant this cycle! (I should know in about a week) but with a 1-3% chance this past cycle... ugh why get my hopes up? Any advice or stories to tell? Totally with Lindsay skip the IUIs go straight to IVF. We did IUIs at first at the second one they told us to move onto IVF but I didn't want to do we did 3 more IUIs none worked and ended up doing IVF anyways. Looking back I wish we would have skipped the IUIs and saved ourselves a lot of money

Honestly I'd skip the IUIs and go straight to IVF especially if you don't have insurance coverage for treatments. Thats what we did and was the best decision we could have made. I have anovulation and DH has low count. We did 2 timed cycles then 1 IUI before deciding we were wasting time, money (IUIs were costing us over 2k per cycle) and heartache. We decided to put our $$ towards IVF instead of more IUIs and were successful on the first try. It's not an easy decision but good luck with whatever you decide!

I am in the same situation. We did two cycles of Clomid and had no ovulation and we are on our their cycle of 5 mm Letrozole with an Ovidrel trigger and timed intercourse and I am also wondering when is it time for us to move on and try something else.
