Before I met my fiancé, I was single from 26-34. I had some long gaps, but couldn't have gone without. (Also owned a dildo thank goodness!)
 
I've never done the FB thing, I'm kind of black & white about my friends.
 
If I'm going to scratch an itch with someone I prefer someone I won't want to hangout with as an actual friend, keeping feelings out of it. If I enjoy a guy's company and feel attracted to them sexually, I'd rather date them.
 
It can also jeopardise the friendship in the future if your new partner or his isn't comfortable with the past intimacy.
