Would you put your parents in a nursing home?

I ask because it's actually frowned upon amongst many ethic communities.

If i couldnt take care of them myself id probably do at home care.

Never. If I have to work 2+ jobs to keep my mother out of a nursing home I will. Nursing homes are horrendous!

No. We still care for my Nana who's 100. Wouldn't dream of treating my mom any different in the future.

My sister and I have already sat my parents down and told them that when they got too old to live on their own, that we would take care of them in our homes and they also made us promise that if they ever got to a point that they were too difficult or too sick to take care of, then to put them in a nursing home that we've done extensive research on so they don't get abused by staff members.

I've been a CNA and where I worked they were treated like royalty and there was plenty for them to do. So yes in that situation if I absolutely had to. Otherwise I'd take care of them.

I'm a CNA, I think that if you are unable to provide proper care, you should at least try assisted living or at home care. Otherwise, educate yourself, its very beneficial and sometimes crucial. Don't be afraid to start now, learning and volunteering.
