hand flapping?

Any babies hand flapping? My baby does it a lot and I read an article that it is an early sign of autism and I can't get it out of my head now!

My baby flaps when she is happy. It is a normal baby behavior. She also bangs her head, which the pediatrician said is also normal. Babies are just exploring and experimenting.
I read an article that said baby flapping and autistic flapping was a different movement. Not sure how, I just remember reading that late one night. Might be worth a Google search.

My pediatrician said don't be alarmed if she starts licking strange things also. Babies just do weird things!

My 9 month old "hits" and throws things to see where they go. Maybe your baby is trying to clap! I just taught mine to clap last week. I think it's just a new skill that they are getting the hang of.

My baby smacks his own head when I start feeding him. I was worried at first because he would just sit there hitting himself, but babies just do their own thing. I wouldn't be worried. Does your baby make good eye contact?

My daughter does a weird thing with her hands if she is excited, upset, etc. I wouldn't call it "flapping" but she does kind of twirl both hands around when she is having a lot of emotions. Is there a specific time your baby does it?

Lol no your baby is fine because mine does it too and laughs at the same time. He also says bye bye too when he does it but mostly when he is giggling with his daddy.
