really painful cramps!

This may be TMI so I apologize, but I just started my period and it seems like after I gave birth to my daughter 5 months ago my period cramps are TERRIBLE! They literally feel just as bad as when I was in labor except only difference is I can't get an epidural for it! I'm starting birth control, but until then what do you guys do for your cramps?? I've never actually had period cramps before until after I had my daughter! 😩
