tonsils

My tonsils are swollen. And it is making my throat hurt like crazy. They are big , with white spots on them , I know this is disgusting but does anyone know what this could be? I can't go to the doctor today it is FREEZING outside. Not just cold, freezing. I took some ibuprofen but it didn't work. This is making the right side hurt like crazy, my left is alright my right is killing me. Can anyone help?
