IUD cramping

Hi. I just got my iud put in about 4 hours ago. When my doctor placed it I had a really bad, super intense cramp and now I am just cramping. I am still in a good amount of pain, so I was just wondering if anyone had any tips on how to help with the pain? and how long it usually lasts? I took painkillers and have a heating pad which is helping a bit, but if anyone has any other tips please let me know!
