who do you call

I'm just a little confused.
How does it work?
When you are feeling contractions, do you call your doctor or L&D?
FTM here. Please don't judge! I don't really have any family or experienced friends to ask and I just want to make sure I know exactly what to do when the time comes.

For me, if it's during business hours, I call my doctor's office and talk to the nurses, if it's after hours or weekend I call L&D. But ask your doctor at your next appointment what their preference is.

Hope this helps. I have kaiser... advice nurse hotline, direct l&d line. They both have the same answers;)
When I didn't have kaiser...I was told to call l&d of I thought I was in labor, had contractions, bloody show things like that... calmly he doctor if it's 'minor' for headaches not assisted with swelling, emotional cencerns, parent issues, yadda yadda

It varies really- my dr is part of the hospital system.  They said for anthing that might be labor starting or an emergency call the floor, random other stuff call the dr.  But I know others who were told to call their dr.

Just go to the hospital instead of waiting around 💙 they'll get the nurse that's on the clock to help you until your doctor gets there

Our OB coordinator told us to call labor and delivery, and they call our midwife.

On my hospital tour, we were told to just come to the hospital, they will call my doctor. Now, if I'm having symptoms but I'm not positive it's labor, my doctor said to call him if it's business hours, or go to the hospital if it is after hours. If my water breaks or I'm having close, strong contractions, straight to the hospital I go!
