Poop question...

My son is 2 1/2 weeks old. Since 3 or 4 days his BM went from several times a day to not at all. I gave him a 1/4th of a suppository a week ago to make him poop. (TMI) it was a thick paste and normal color. There was alot. He didn't go again a couple days and so we went to the pediatrician. She is having me add dark karo syrup to his bottle. He fart alot and it's really loud. But no poop. He pooped a couple days ago but I took rectal temp. Is this normal? He pees about every 2hrs. I have a slow system, only go 1-2 times a week. He cries sometimes when he farts too. Gas pains I guess? He hasnt pooped on his own pretty much since we brought him home. Am i jumping the gun? So should I be worried?
