tightness and occasional discomfort

Hey ladies! I am 7 weeks pregnant and had occasional discomfort/twinges in my left lower abdomen and now today it's on the right side. I also feel occasional lower abdominal tightness. Is this normal? Are any of you experiencing this? I don't have my first ultrasound/appt until the 23rd!
