Ultrasound

So my doctor had me do an ultrasound 2 weeks ago when I should have been 7 weeks and he said looks like 6 weeks. Then yesterday I should have been 8-9 weeks and it didn't look like much growth but he said I'm going to miscarry and I can do a d&c. Do I have hope or should I just get this over with with the d & c? Part of me doesn't want to because what if baby is hiding or I have one of those rare odd shaped uteruses?? I have no symptoms at all. My hcg even is rising and not going down and he has no explanation except "sometimes weird things happen". Ugh.
