bassinets vs. crib?

What is everybodies input on a crib, that will change into a toddler bed, versus a bassinet. Pro and cons please. Personally I like the idea of a bassinet because the baby will be sleeping in our room next to the bed, and then getting a toddler bed as they grow. I think the bassinet would be good for people who don't have a nursery or a lot of room for a crib at first. Anddddd GO!!
