Starbucks jobs?

Hi ladies, so I'm a college student looking to make some money to have in the bank and I'm curious if any of you have ever worked at Starbucks? If so I would love to hear your experiences. I have pretty bad anxiety so I'm trying to find a job that I can catch onto quickly and I feel like Starbucks would be fun since I love Starbucks but I'm worried I would be anxiety ridden with everything I'd have to remember. I would love any comments/advice you can give :)

It has its pros and cons.

A drive thru store can be high volume and at times stressful, especially during frappy hours. Starbucks is also struggling with labor, they're often understaffed lately since they're cutting labor. A lot of baristas complain about this.

Learning drinks is relatively easy. We don't pull our own shots, just press a button and steaming milk isn't hard at all. The recipes take a bit to learn since there are exceptions to rules and often times there's a lot of regulars that have crazy drinks like a triple venti nonfat no whip 8 pump extra hot stirred white mocha. (That's an actual drink I had to make.) so you have to take these orders apart and understand them from the ground up. People can be disrespectful since it's their coffee and are dependent on it. Frappuccinos take time, but are easy as well.

A cafe store might be easier if you have anxiety, however you have to mark cups there. That can be a bit of a challenge since you have to know all of the abbreviations and write fast since people can order multiple drinks at one time.

It's an okay job, hard to make decent money. Shifts get paid too little for the amount of work their doing and often times are bitter because of it. Getting tips is nice for some extra cash money and you can always pick up shifts at other Starbucks in the area if you're not being scheduled enough.

Honestly though, I'd work at an independent coffeeshop. You'd make better tips since the tips aren't pooled per week and you'd probably have less bullshit to deal with.

My friend has anxiety and she said working at Starbucks heightens it. It gets very fast paced at times. After learning about her experience, I wouldn't work there

When it gets busy it can be stressful because making drinks takes time. So keep that in mind.

If you do get one, I suggest working at a real Starbucks and not a target or Safeway. You'll be so stressed out. Every. Single. Day.
