Cervix Position

So last night I checked my cervix just as another way of seeing if I am fertile or not. It was high, closed and firm. Checked it again about 10 minutes ago and now it is high, open and softer. My calendar already says I should've ovulated and that was a few days ago. I also got positive opk's a few days ago. Does anyone know why it could possibly be like this right now? Please help.
