Is anyone doing cord blood banking here? Just wanted to know if you think it is worth doing it .

Hubby and I are scientists and I can tell you that for sure in the next few years this will be completely obsolete. They can take a stem cell from anywhere in your baby's body and turn it into whatever they need now. We are in clinical trials, and it's a super simple process. These companies are just preying on ignorance and charging ridiculous amounts!

Nope! I would rather my baby get all that blood to his or herself from birth! We are delaying cord clamping instead. I agree with the scientists who have posted on this thread, in a few years cord blood banking will likely be obsolete.

Donating is great because it can help research. Banking your own cells is insane because if you're sick, they would never use your own cells for you anyway! 
But be aware that if you use any donor gametes you are prohibited from donating cord blood.
