period lasting 3 + weeks?!

Hey ladies so I had my baby 10/10/16 & since I had him I've been on birth control (the pill) well about 3 weeks or so ago I started my period again (2nd period since I had the baby) & I have been bleeding since, nonstop with cramps and all. Is this normal? My first period after the baby was not like this at all. I have never had a period last this long & it hasn't even gone away! What is happening?

I know this was from 2016, but what ended up happening? When did it stop? Im going through the same thing. Had a baby in October 2023, and got my 2nd period in December, which was extremely heavy. Its now January and my period has been going for about 3 wks. My first period was mostly just spotting. :(

Have you contacted your OB? Could be a hormonal imbalance. I would at least notify them. Good luck !
