I use the forehead one. The hospital gave it to me for free. I think it works well. I use another thermometer (axillary) as a back-up / confirmation.

We have an ear one, but realistically are unlikely to use it until he's much older. Our pediatrician only accepts a rectal temperature. It's the only way that's accurate enough and actually is pretty quick and easy to do at the end of a diaper change.

I have one you place behind ear, and it reads it pretty quickly and is very accurate

Our pedi uses a forehead thermometer so that's what I've used for 2 years.
