Owning a pit bull while in the military?

If my husband is active duty do you think it's a terrible idea to own a pit bull?

What does your husvand being invthe military have to do with anything? Im trying to figure out the correlation.

I have no issue with any breed, but if you're planning on living on base,  you might rethink it. I know our base just kicked 2 more "aggressive" breeds off the acceptable list.

I clicked it's a good idea then thought about how they are banned in some places. If you're going to be moving around then I'd say no. Sucks because they're a great breed of dogs.

If you already have a pit bull, please keep them. There are so many in shelters already. But if you are looking to get a new dog, a pit bull may not be the best option for you. Many posts and rental communities don't allow you to have one. Also, if there is a possibility of living overseas, I would refrain because many countries have banned the breed.

It takes a lot of work to be a pit owner. You'll have to deal with a lot of ignorance and negativity. Please please please do your research and see if you are able to have one. I would hate to see you get one and then have the dog go thru the heart break have having to get rehomed. It isn't fair to them, even if you have good intentions.

I had a pit.. and it was a total pain in the ass!! 
I love them so much. My ex and I are both active duty and state to state there are so many renting restrictions, and then you can't take them overseas. I wouldn't buy one unless you already have one.

Any pit, Rottweiler, or wolf hybrid, even a mix of the dogs are banned from any military base. It sucks but most people get away with it.

I'd say no if you'd be moving around, it really sucks that some places have banned them. I've never met a mean pitbull. Here's my baby 😊❤
