are foetal dopplers safe?

I've got a sonoline b home Doppler, to help ease my anxieties. I've heard the heartbeat for the first time today (11w4d) but I've just read something about dopplers exposing babies to unwanted energy? What's everyone's thoughts on this?

Ive been told to stick with only what the doctors do because every time you use one of those (even when the doc does it) its exposing the baby to things. I wouldn't want to risk it. ... Although, im sure its fun to hear the heart beat when you want to. :)

So long as you don't use it too often for too long it's fine. I used mine only when I was worried and only long enough to hear his heart for 20 seconds. I was told that this is fine by a midwife, their main concern is you scaring yourself when you can't find it because baby is lying in the wrong place

I have the same one and I've used it from the beginning of my pregnancy and ignored what everyone said about it being bad for babies ears and other things. Now that I'm 31 weeks and my baby is huge and super active, if I turn that thing on and put it on my belly my baby gets so angry and starts kicking the sound harder than I've ever felt him kick. I won't use mine ever again, I think it really does hurt their ears.
