alternative doctor?

So my mother mentioned seeing an alternative doctor instead of a regular one (since I've seen many and none seem to help as they just all put me on pills and diets right away). Does anyone have any good or bad experiences with seeing an alternative doctor?

I've seen one to help treat my pcos. She is trained in naturopathy and traditional Chinese medicine. She has pcos as well and has never taken western meds to treat it. I absolutely love her! She works with me in conjunction with my western medicine. I also worked for one and her practice was absolutely amazing!
