How does the doctor check for it? And how long does it go away with antibiotics?

Answer

Unless you get them very frequently, you can treat a yeast infection with Monistat (Miconazole) or a generic store version of the vaginal suppositories. They all have the same ingredients. Make sure to stop washing with any scented soaps, dry that area as much as possible and don't touch down there. My doctor told me a few years ago that Dove soap is great to use because it doesn't mess with the PH level in your system like other soaps do. It can help you avoid infections in the future.

Unfortunately I did had to go once it was so annoying (discharge)... It looked cottage cheese like and it was itchy. A lot of women get them during pregnancy,  nothing to be a shame of. They look at your vagina and can tell right away, prescribed a vaginal cream if you aren't open/dilated etc. 7day treatment and then it's gone!  Haven't had anything since.

I only went to dr for yi once or twice. I told her what was going on and she looked at the discharge in my underwear and prescribed an antibiotic. Now when I get them I just let them go away on their own/use monistat if it's gets too bad
