Ovulation spotting on CD19, BD on CD18, can I be pregnant?

So my SO and I BD on CD 18. later that night, I discovered I was bleeding. It only lasted for a few hours and went from pinkish red in color to brown. My doctor said it was ovulation bleeding, but I've never had that happen before. Is it possible to get pregnant if that was true?
