what all do you pay to get married?

We're possibly wanting to go ahead and get legally married soon, then have an event later. What all fees would we pay? Just the fee for the marriage license? Please clue me in on this. Also, what's the fee for name change?

A lot and I would never do it again!!!! I will marry my husband over and over again but I would not spend all that money again!!!!

I didn't have to pay to change my name, you just go to your local SS office with birth certificate, ID and marriage certificate.

And I paid $45 for my marriage license and $50 for a JOP to marry us.

I paid $40 for my license. The pastor charged $40 to marry us, but if you just do it in the court it's like $10. Name change is free but you'll have to get a new ID.

The license is the cheap part. I don't remember how much, around 100 bucks I think. It probably depends where you live. The ceremony depends on your extravagance. I would have preferred to spend less and just have our family join us at the park with the pastor. But mom and mil wanted a big white dress -tuxedo wedding.. So it went up to around 5000 thankfully they wanted it so much that they helped with the cost. Only reason we did it was because we love our mammas and they wanted that special moment for us. Plus I never really had plans for a wedding.

We paid $35 for the license and $1000 for our party it was in a club so it was a lot of ppl we didnt know 😂 8 years later we got married thru church which was last year in may we spent $25,000 so its a big difference but we saved enough to had our wedding dream looking foward to get married again lol

We paid 90 for license and ceremony. We also had a party afterwards and we spent about $1500 all together for food, decorations, dj, and tux&dress. It didnt cost me anything that i can remember to change my last name i believe i only paid for my drivers license but everything else was free

It was $56 for our marriage license. Think you saved $20 if you had counseling. As for as getting my name changed on everything it didn't cost anything except my time to go do it
