IM 15, IS IT OK TO GET THE COPPER IUD?

I've heard mixed reviews about it, given that most of them say it's best to wait until after you have sex and had a baby because it's easier to install and it won't have as great if a risk of falling out. Also, I've heard that it's extremely painful when it's getting installed, and usually people get severe cramps for a day or so. And I've heard that it makes you either bleed heavier or lighter (depending on the person.)
*Please no questions about why, I obviously want to have safe sex.
*Yes, I see that I'm "too young" In a lot of people's eyes.
*I rather be educated on sex and have safe sex with BC and condoms than have unsafe, unprotected sex with the risk of pregnancy. And I've heard the IUD is 99.9% effective.
*Yes, I'm planning on having sex, no I won't change my mind.
And finally thanks for everyone who responds, (it won't let me respond anonymously.)
