scented tampons?

Ok so my mom accidentally got me scented tampons and I can't really return them since I opened them. Are they safe to use because I see a lot of people saying to avoid scented tampons? I don't feel like using them but I also don't want them to go to waste.

Scented tampons can mess with your vaginal ph and cause bacterial vaginosis which not only would make your vagina  have a foul smell but you could have swelling and irritation, too. I only ever used scented ones once and I was so damn itchy and ended up with a yeast infection. You should never put ANYTHING scented near or in your vagina. Please don't use scented tampons.
