tatto while pregnant?!

So i was curious i want to get a tattoo but I don't have the patience to wait until i give birth ... is it okay to get a tattoo while you're pregnant? Alot of women did it said it was fine so did the doctors but i wanna know if it really is okay or not pleasee comment i need to know

My skin soaks up tattoo ink like nobodies business and always heals so nicely! The color sticks for years and then keeps on sticking. I even have one inside my lip that they said would fade out in a few years (lip tattoos just do that), well it's been almost 10 years and it's still black as ever! Anywho: I had my third session of a four session tattoo when I was about 7 weeks pregnant (I didn't know I was pregnant at the time) and man oh man, that ink just did not stick and it's all blotchy and it took forever to heal and healed weirdly and I have scarring... it's shitty. So now I have had an unfinished upper arm piece for the past 9 months that looks less than appealing from that last session that I have already put $800 into... if I can wait to 9 months to get it fixed up, you can wait to even start a new one. Forget the risk on infection for a minute - just the fact it can turn out shitty should be enough to make you wait! You're body is not itself right now!

Getting a tattoo should not be a priority right now. That can and should wait. I want to get my sons birthday tattooed in Roman numerals but I have to wait until I'm done breastfeeding him. You're a mother now and that means your baby comes first, then yourself. A tattoo always has a risk of infection (HIV for example or Hepatitis) and if you get an infection like that during pregnancy or during the time you breastfeed your little one will catch it too. It's not worth it honestly. And just so you know a good tattoo shop/artist won't even tattoo you if you're pregnant.

I got a tattoo 10 days before I found out I was pregnant. (It was right after a miscarriage, so I didn't know) and it took foreveerrr for it to heal like 4 months or so. And it itched and skin pealed horrible and the ink didn't stick to well. I thought I was allergic to the color at first. But now I'm 7 months pregnant and it's better now. I would recommend waiting. You don't want a shitty tattoo just because you couldn't wait!

Most reputable artists won't do it. You are at higher risk of infection even if they do everything right, and sometimes the ink doesn't take properly because of all the hormonal changes.
