35 weeks! Needing Answers! Help!!

So yesterday I went inti the Doctor to be checked because I was having Braxton Hicks Contractions, everything turned out okay although I had a bit of hyper tension (high blood pressure) but urine didn't have protein, they gave me a 24 hour urine culture I have to do today an will test it again for protein. The doctor also checked my cervix and told me I wasn't dilated but was beginning to soften. Well when I got home yesterday evening I went to the bathroom to find I either lost my mucus plug and still continuing to lose it or my cervix got irritated and I was bleeding. It was dark red more of a dullish pink color. Anyways I'm just curious as to if this has happened to anyone else (this is my first pregnancy!) And if so did you go into labor early? Any information is greatly appreciated! Thanks!😊
