anyone did iui?

Has anyone done the iui? Had success? What exactly do you have to do? Lots of questions sorry!! My husband goes in for his second semen analysis on the 30th this month.. My doctor said if his test comes back the same as last month (his morphology was 4%) and my hsg test comes back okay, we need to consider the iui and I'm just curious how it works and what all I would have to do to prepare for it..
