how did you feel after egg retrieval?

Hi Ladies! I'm going through IVF this month and was wondering how does one feel after egg retrieval? Are you back to normal after a week? Meaning no bloating, emotional outbursts, pains? Thank you in advance.

The first day I needed help getting out of bed. Couldn't walk right the first day. Second day was a little better. I could walk but still had pain. Each day gets a little better... now I'm on day 7 since egg retrieval and still experiencing a little pain. My dr said it's still normal especially if they retrieve a lot of eggs.

I did mine last month. The ER was really hard on me. I couldn't get out of bed afterwards for almost 2 days. I was nauseous and felt some pain down there. Walking around was hard for about 5 days. I had severe bloating too (I seriously looked pregnant but sadly that was not to be) that lasted a week and a half and then slowly went down. Just take it easy though, and you'll pull through it! It's not that bad for everyone I don't think.

Hi! I had my egg retrieval on Monday, so today is day 3 of recovery. I developed mild/moderate OHSS because I had 81 eggs collected (thank you PCOS) and my ovaries basically freaked out! My doctor had me do a Lupron trigger rather than hCg which I'm sure is what saved me from ending up with severe OHSS. The biggest symptom I've had has been bloating and abdomen pain, but it's finally eased up a bit today. I am a teacher and on my feet all day, and I've taken Monday - today off work. It took a little over a week for me to feel back to normal- pain wise. But if you are doing a fresh transfer, you're just going to switch hormones and continue feeling different.
