We have a plan!
Hi ladies, I posted a few weeks ago. Had gone to the specialist to speak about my husband's "zero sperm count" and at that time IVF looked like our only option. I told you ladies I'd keep you updated.
So, today we met with the specialist again after my husband did an in-office analysis so, they could look at it under the microscope right away. Good news! He DOES have a sperm count. Not that high but, it's there. & whats there is good! Good, fast moving swimmers. So, our doctor offered us options.
1.) Do clomid for 3 months for him and try to boost his count.
2.) Start IUI right away.
3.) Start IVF right away.
First off I want to say that I absolutely LOVE my doctor. He's all about what's best for us at the lowest cost. He's truly in it for helping those with infertility issues.
He said he felt like waiting wasn't an option (to do the 3 months of clomid for my husband) because we've already waited 4.5 years. Well I'm glad we're on the same page! So, we begin the IUI process in two weeks when my cycle starts. He's putting my husband on clomid. Me on clomid day 3-7. We're also doing the trigger shot along with it. Then the HSG to make sure I'm cleared out a few days before insemination.
The doctor feels hopeful that IUI will work for us but, if not he'll only let us do it 3 times then on to IVF. He said at any time we can jump to IVF if we want but, like I said he wants to get the job done the cheapest route.
The beginning of February is going to be busy busy busy taking so many trips 2 hours round trips to appointments but, we are so beyond ready and so happy/excited that we received such good news today!
