mad for buying a laptop 🙄

So I bought a laptop today for $1,800 and I know it's a lot, but it's my money. My boyfriend and I are trying to get married by the end of the year so we're also saving money. I'm still a college student and a laptop serves a lot of purpose. My boyfriend is not mad at me because I didn't "pray" about it for a long time beforehand. It's so unfair because he recently bought a stupid XBox that serves no purpose. You think it's right for him to be so upset at me?
