boyfriend/college advice!

Currently I'm 2 hours away from my boyfriend due to college, however I plan on transferring my 3rd semester to be closer to home for many reasons! However, my boyfriend doesn't want me to stay on campus bc of "partying" he doesn't want me partying and before anyone tries to be rude, it's a mutual thing, he's a recovering alcoholic and I respect this and I don't care for partying that much anyway! But I personally love the campus life! I just don't know how to talk to him about this without arguing, I tried to explain that he needs to trust me, and he said he does, but obviously he doesn't right?! Also, my mom doesn't really accept my relationship so I figured it would be easier for us to hangout in a dorm, instead of my house.. any advice or tips on how I could get him to be a little bit more understanding?! (Ps: when I first came to school I did party a lot however I haven't gone out for about 4 months now)
