Opinions? Cribs or bassinets?

What do you guys recommend? This is gonna be my first child. & Which specific products would u guys suggest?

Bassinet is useless. They grow out so fast so it's just a waste of money and then you either have to start using the crib, or buy a pack n play or other type of sleeper.

I recommend a crib and a pack n play. The pack n play can be used for years, and it's extremely useful when traveling or needing a play pen for baby while you do chores or something

A bassinet is good if you are room sharing for the first month or so, but they out grow them quickly.

My daughter stayed in our bassinet until she was about 4 months old, and she was always in the 97th percentile for height. I think it depends on a personal preference. A bassinet you can leave right next to the bed & I always loved being able to look in on my girl while she slept to make sure she was breathing and everything, and I loved watching her sleep so peacefully at night.

If you want to spend the extra money to get one and have the convenience of the baby being directly next to you, I'd say it's worth it. If you plan on putting the baby in his/her own crib or room asap or don't have the money to buy one, it's not really worth it.

We will be using a rock n play as a bassinet. We have several nieces and nephews and friends kids who slept in one until 4-6 months. Then we will use play pen in our room before moving baby to its own room with the crib.

I kept my daughter in a bassinet beside my bed for about a month after she was born, then moved her to a crib in the corner of the room, and now she's ten months old, and is sleeping in her room in the crib.

I had both but my son would not sleep in the bassinet so he has been in his crib in his room since about 2 weeks old
