traits in babies?

So I was talking with my friend about dominating traits in families. She was saying if my bf and I had a baby it would probably have black hair and brown eyes like him because those are dominating. His mom has brown hair brown eyes and his dad has light brownish hair and blue eyes. I have blonde hair blue eyes and my parents are the same. What are the chances our baby could have my eyes? This is just for fun I know there's no real way to tell!

My husband's entire family has brown eyes and dark brown hair. His grandfather was half creole so they're naturally darker featured.

Both sides of my family only have light blue eyes. Half have blonde hair and half brown.

Our son has my exact eye color, skin tone, and blonde hair. Lol.

It depends on whether he carries two dominant alleles or a dominant and a recessive allele. If he has 2 dominant for brown eyes, for example, your child will have brown eyes, but if he has 1 dominant and one recessive, your child has, if I remember correctly, a 1 in 4 chance of having blue eyes. It's not something you can determine without genetic testing, but there is a small chance your child could end up with blond hair and blue eyes.

Your friend is wrong. Since his dad has blue eyes, he has to have the blue eyed trait hidden under the brown. Since you have blue eyes, your kids have a pretty decent (around 50%) chance of being blue eyed. My sister has brown eyes, her husband's blue, four or five of their eight kids are blue eyed.

What's impossible is getting a brown eyed kid from two blues.

All depends my dad is Italian has dark brown hair and eyes and so doesn't my brother but my mom has light brown hair and blue eyes and somehow I was born with blonde hair and blue eyes. So now I married a black/white/Indian man and we have two girls one has dark brown hair n brown eyes other has light brown hair and brown eyes. Currently pregnant with a boy and hoping he has my blue eyes.

You may have a child with blue eyes since he has a parent with blue eyes then he will carry the blue eye gene and you can only pass that on, he may pass either blue or brown so it's a 50/50 shot what you get.
