any mommies to be avid travelers?

I'm curious because I'm trying (7 mi and counting) but I don't want to put off my travel plans just to keep getting negative results. We have a trip booked for Thailand in April, and I keep getting very controversial responses about being around places with Zika. Any one have any ACTUAL experience with this?

I canceled a trip to Puerto Rico due to Zika concerns. My husband & I are big travelers, but the way we see it, there are so many wonderful places to travel that it's easy to stick to places that are really TTC/pregnancy safe for that relatively short (in the context of your life) period where you are TTC/pregnant. :)

We went to Cabo when I was 8 weeks pregnant. There is always an outbreak of some sort and honestly life is too short to live scared. I took the necassary precautions and wore tons of bug spray and bought citronella bracelets. Didn't get a single bite! I'm now due in 8 weeks with a healthy baby boy!

Hi!! I am going to Dominican Republic in 2 weeks. My doctor said to me "you shouldn't be going if you are ttc"...well I have to live my life! Over 8 months of negatives here! I have bought 5 bottles of bug spray and hope to get tested if we get any bites. I am trying not to stress and just enjoy the trip.

I just got back from Thailand! There weren't many mosquitoes and I took precautions with long sleeves sometimes and spray. I only got bit once (and I was warned there were mosquitoes at that place so I should have worn longer clothes). Zika is endemic not epidemic there and the chance of getting it is so small. I chose to live my life- I have no regrets it was an amazing trip- you'll love it!
