question about diapers...

So I'm a first time mom and my baby girl is 7 weeks and 5 days. I was using newborn diapers, but they seem to be getting harder to pull around her and close. Not by too much, but I can tell the difference and it looks a little bit tighter also. So I put her in a size one, but it just looks so big on her lol. So when do I know when to switch diaper sizes?? Because this size one seems really big on her, when she goes to the bathroom will it leak out by her legs?? Sorry if this sounds dumb lol, it's just the size one is big so idk if I should move her up a size or not
