My boyfriend and I were out today and we were sitting on the train when this girl came onto the bus. He kept discreetly looking at her and within the first minutes of her being on the train he picked up his back pack and put it on his crotch like he was hiding a boner. I pulled the bag of his lap to get some "gum" and he squirmed and pulled his pants away from his penis trying to disguise the mild boner I could see. As you can tell I am a very self conscious person. I haven't asked him or told him about this, but it's upset me all day. I just hate the thought of my boyfriend of 2 years looking and getting a hard on from another girl. Does anyone have any advice. Thanks x

Oh man, he must have had some rough teenage years, poor guy. Honestly, he can't control that, and his finding another woman attractive in no way makes you less attractive.  I would, however, maybe ask him to keep the staring at women thing down to a minimum, specially when you're around, it's creepy and disrespectful.

Give the guy a break. He can't control who he finds attractive and he's not going to shield his eyes from every pretty girl he sees. It's just a boner, those pop up randomly sometimes and it's embarrassing enough as it is. So leave him be and work on your own issues and insecurities before you start blaming his anatomy.

They can't control that and they get them all day. It's the same for you when you see or think of someone youre attracted to you get wet. It's a physical reaction. You can't seriously expect he'll only get hard with you and only you.

My husband literally gets random boners all of the time. It's annoying, but at the same time I know it's something he can't help. I usually try to help him out in concealing (asking him to hold my purse, walking in front of him) so he can try to readjust. I would just tell him you noticed him staring at the girl and not only is that disrespectful to you, but impolite to stare at anyone in general. I wouldn't even mention the boner, just know it's something they can't help and if they could hide it, they would.
