Ovulation test to predict pregnancy

Hi ladies! I have seen a few people post about taking ovulation tests near time to test for pregnancy and it being positive and then they get a positive pregnancy test. I decided to try it today seeing as my period is due to start tomorrow but didn't want to take a pregnancy test and get a BFN. The ovulation test was negative and now I'm afraid to take a pregnancy test tomorrow. Have any of you had a negative ovulation test and then ended up pregnant? I know this is not a reliable source but I'm just looking for affirmation that I'm not out this month.
