IUD? should I get one

I'm thinking of getting one if you had or have it can you tell me your experience with it and how long you have had it and what one would work best the Kupper or ?marine? I think it is

I had the copper one. Had it removed after 3 months because I became suicidal. Then copper is introduced into the body, your estrogen levels will rise. It had the same impact on me as taking hormonal birth control (which gives me horrible depression).

Other than emotional, ovulation and periods were painful for me. My periods were super heavy and longer than before.

If I hadn't gotten the physiological side effects and constant bloating/urination, I probably would have stuck it out. The physical pain wasn't overwhelming or unexpected.

I recently got the mirena a little over a month ago. It is amazing! the insertion is  little painful but nothing to bad. It just feels like really bad cramps. I think it is totally worth it. Prior to that i was getting the shot as my birth control but it wasn't working and i was bleeding the entire time i was getting them. My doc suggested i get a IUD  because of my bleeding. Within about two weeks my bleeding was gone. Every once in a while i get cramps but there is no bleeding. If you are thinking about getting one i would definitely recommend!!:)

Depends on if you've been pregnant or not I think. I hadn't been when I got Skyla, and insertion was very painful as well as monthly period cramps (worse than I'd ever had before). I also got a ton of UTIs, which I'd never had a problem with before getting the IUD, so I had it removed. I think it's a better option for women who've had children so their uteruses & other reproductive organs don't freak out from the new occupant like mine did!
