Best baby formula??

Question

Soooo I have made the decision that I'm going to Breastfeed as much as possible but I know with expressing and feeding there are going to be times I physically can't Breastfeed. I was thinking about formulas to buy so I have one ready incase but I have nooooo idea what to go for? Anyone used any formulas before? And which did they find was best substitute for breast milk??

Ahh. Ok. I see what you are saying. 
Unfortunately I have to formula feed because I don't produce milk after the first 2 weeks. This is baby #4 for me and that has been my going thing for all of them. 
I will say from my experience to use caution when switching back and forth from breast to formula because 2 of my babies ended up getting constipated. Not saying that it will happen with yours, just throwing it out there so you know ahead of time. 
Formula can be tricky though. I always started with Similac Advanced. My older 2 had no problems with it. My youngest however had to be switched to Similac Sensitive for his gas. He was so gassy as a baby, still is a gassy 4yr old. Lol. 
What works for some might not work for others so it's kind of trial and error.

As far as the one that is the best or the closest to breast milk, I think that might be a personal choice type thing. All formulas claim to be the closest and the best. They all have to meet FDA standards as far as nutrition and what is in them. Breast milk is unique to what baby needs and because it changes to accommodate baby, you won't find a formula that can do that.  With that being said
I recommend starting with Similac advanced first. If baby has no issues with it then I would stick with that one. If baby has issues with it then you might have to try another type of Similac or even a different brand of formula.

I have always used Costco brand formula when I used formula quite often. With my last one where she mostly breastfed i had got some enfamil single serving packets in the mail that I used the 3 times she had formula in her 14 months of breastfeeding.

I was planning on ebf with my 1yr old but had trouble pumping so we did need to use formula when other people fed her. The only formula she liked was Similac Sensitive. We tried other brands and types but it was the only kind she would take. Thank goodness for all the free samples from the formula companies!!

Enfamil enspire is the closest formula to breast milk and has 2 breast feeding nutrients in it , that's what I'll be using in case breastfeeding doesn't work out

Have you had problems in the past with not producing enough milk? Or are you saying that there are other reasons why you won't be able to breastfeed exclusively?
