doctors appointment today

I am 39 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Today at my appointment I want to ask for a membrane sweep. I'm a little worried my midwife will refuse though because I'm not past 40 weeks and I have a very healthy/normal pregnancy. My SO has to plan vacations months in advance so he planned it for my due date in two days so I don't want him to waste his vacation days on days when our baby won't be here. Do you ladies think my midwife will make me wait longer to help get labor started? What's your experiences with membrane sweeps?
