Natural Birth Plan?

Question

Ok ladies...I've had 2 blissfully amazing deliveries WITH epidurals. That said, my last epidural was terrible and certainly had its challenges.  So.....I'm considering the natural route...eeek!  My kiddos were fast deliveries, so my mind says I can do this.  Has anyone else delivered both ways...or have had a natural delivery and can talk me into it, ha!

I would like to know as well! I've had one birth but it was medicated! I had staydol early on so it wore off when my real pain started and got an epidural at 9cm...well the epidural didn't help with where my pain was. I think the only thing it helped with was not feeling myself tear and the dr stitching me back up!! So I'm not sure what I want to do this route! I'm a wimp when it comes to pain. But I feel like I did ok with labor...the staydol only lasted an hour for me. I also wasn't in labor a crazy amount of hours...4 1/2 hours in big time pain! The epidural actually slowed down my progress. They were going to start me on pitocin but then my contractions picked back up. I just don't know which route I want to do this time around!!

I had my first baby last August and had an amazing homebirth. I always knew I wanted to deliver drug free and at home. I gave birth in a birthing tub in my sons nursery, it was honestly a magical experience and I will never give birth another way. We are due with her second this September and I am so so excited to do it all over again! I would definitely suggest a birthing tub, it was so relaxing and the hot water was amazing for management of the contractions. Also much easier to move to different positions because you don't always end up giving birth in the position that you picture in your mind. And also, one thing I did, was watch tons and tons and tons of natural birth videos. And I would search on YouTube specifically for "amazing" or "peaceful" natural births. I found a few favorites and ended up watching those ones several times throughout my pregnancy, just to really motivate me! You can totally do it! You just have to know that you can do it, if you doubt yourself, that doubt can eat at you. If you will be giving birth in the hospital, definitely get a Doula. That will be your advocate and your support for sticking to the birth that you want. My goal for this baby is to catch them myself! I  wanted to last time but my midwife had me in sort of a weird position to avoid tearing so this time I really want to do that!
