Tampons !?!?

I asked my mom if I could try tampons when I first started my period(im a virgin) she amediately said no because one of her friends daughter died from wearing one for to long ( the syndrome thing you get for wearing them for to long) but I found a couple in my moms bathroom and I tried it and it hurt like a mf! I couldn't put the whole thing in bc it hurt !? I don't know if I did it wrong or not but I'm more comfortable with pads but I hate walking around in school scared that people might see my pad and I'm always paranoid and asking my friends if they can see it ! I would rather just wear a tampon so no one can see it and soon enough I will have to bc of track and summer coming up!? Any tips on asking my mom if I can wear them now ??? I'm nervous on asking her im not that comfortable or close enough to. Just blurt it out and ask her!!!

My mom was the exact opposite and wanted me to wear tampons asap! But i was a very active child and played many sports lol anywho maybe consider asking if you can use a menstrual cup? Im not sure if you mentioned your age (not that they have an age requirement) but it may be a good idea if shes so worried about tss! They are way better then tampons Anyway! But anyway they are basically tampons in the fact that you dont see or feel them so you dont worry if people can see the outline or not and theres no risk of tss no matter how long you leave it in lol they are a little more money then tampons which is why I mentioned age being a thing if shes paying for your products BUT its reusable so in the long run its saving money... just something to think about really

Just tell her that you're concerned about people seeing it and that its guna be uncomfortable and hard to deal with during track and swimming during summer.

What kind of tampon? The plastic ones are wayy better then the cardboard ones. A lot smoother too. Also if you're young you probably don't need a super(which will be thicker.)

You're less at risk for TSS ( toxic shock syndrome ) if you wear them longer than six hours & if you continuously wear the super size ones . I've been using tampons since I was eleven years old & I absolutely am healthy & I honestly love them to pieces . I hated how pads made me feel & so I demanded to have access to tampons. It's your body, I would kindly bring it up to you mom again & say hey look I'm honestly not comfortable with wearing pads & I'll be super careful with wearing tampons . good luck honey ! ❤️

Hahaha my mom was exactly the same!! She FORBID me to wear tampons. Honestly chances are you put it in wrong, the first two times I ever tried using a tampon it was horrible and it hurt to pull that damn thing out! Because I couldn't ask my mom for advice I had to ask one of my friends for help lol and surely enough she taught me how to use them and they are amazing! I don't use them all the time I just use it the first 2 days of my period wich is where I'm the heaviest and then I switch to pads because I'm a light bleeder it'll hurt to wear a tampon even if I put it in correctly just because it's not as heavy and there's not much to absorb! But good luck and I hope you get it! 😊
