Painful breast lump? 😖

So I have a if painful lump in my breast and doc thinks it's an abcsess and wants to drain it?!! Anybody been through this? I'm super scared and freaking out at the thought of sticking a needle in a painful lump on my boob and draining it.

It could be a plugged duct, how long have you had the lump? Have you had any flu like symptoms? Did they consider mastitis? I've had abscesses before so I could give you some advice if you like.

Could be a clogged duct. Try putting hot compresses on it and nursing frequently

Did you have any sort of imagining study done to confirm that it is an abscess (ex: ultrasound) if not, request that you have one to confirm whether or not it is an abscess before you allow a doctor to puncture your breast with a needle which could potentially  introduce bacteria and lead to infection. Also is this your obgyn? They should refer you to a doctor who specializes in breast health/procedures.

So I had it drained and they left the drain in me til tomorrow. Ugh super painful. If you can help it, don't get it drained! Kind of regretting my dicision....
